The Adbusters magazine cover was designed for the release of “The Anxeity Issue”, with a focus on a photographic approach. Using myself as the subject, I placed a wet fabric over my face to evoke a suffocating effect, symbolizing the overwhelming nature of anxiety. The deliberate misspelling of “Anxeity” adds an unsettling layer, subtly reinforcing the theme by suggesting that something feels off or wrong, just as anxiety often disrupts the sense of normalcy.
A small opening over one eye reveals a calm expression beneath the fabric, providing a striking contrast between the visible tension and an underlying sense of calm. This visual concept powerfully captures the experience of anxiety, balancing its intensity with moments of quiet control.
